You can tell he has been socialized and is eager to learn.

Once we decided on getting a Duck Toller Trisha stood out to us as a breeder because of her genuine and sincere rapport, as well as the wealth of information that she provided. It is clear that her heart is fully committed to these dogs! She was always thorough and prompt with her communication and has answered many questions throughout the entire process. We really appreciated the puppy updates that we got along the way and how we got to watch them all grow. We recently got our Spud (Renard from the French Litter) and are overjoyed with how well-adjusted and awesome he is. You can tell he has been socialized and is eager to learn. He was a great traveller on the way home, sleeps nicely in his crate at night, and already knows "sit"! Thank you, Trisha! We couldn't be happier!

We couldn't be happier with our puppy

We had an amazing experience adopting a puppy from Daintree. Getting a Toller from Trisha is not just adopting a dog; you also become a member of the Daintree family. The support is great and we couldn't be happier with our puppy. We highly recommend Daintree to anyone intrested in a Super-Toller.

Duck tollers are amazing dogs and Daintree's truly shine, thank you

Daintree puts the dogs first, when it comes time for another pup, it will be a Daintree.

After having two Tollers in our extended family we knew this was the right dog for us. The next hardest question was where to get our new family member. After interviewing and being interviewed we knew Trish and Daintree was right for us. We believe beyond a shadow of a doubt that Daintree puts the dogs first. At every turn and every question we have had great support. We have a holistic vet and a fantastic dog trainer and both have complimented what a well bred and well adjusted dog we have. Further to that, the protocols and expectations for feeding, vaccines and raising have been a blessing! We love our dog so much and when it comes time for another pup Daintree will be who we call.

We are so happy to have a Toller from Daintree!

Trisha sets herself apart because she truly cares about each puppy and the families that they become a part of. She puts in the extra effort to make sure they are well-adjusted and socialized before they go to their homes. After they go home she continues to make herself available as a resource and makes you feel like you are a part of daintrees family. In the first two weeks of having our pup, we have had so many people in awe of how calm and easy going she is. We are so happy to have a toller from Daintree!- Rob and Alli

Wouldn't go anywhere else

Wow what a beautiful litter of pups!!! I hope to open my home to another Toller in a few years time and wouldn't go anywhere else! You've been amazing, still are amazing :-) thanks :-)

Already getting thanks and they don't have a dog yet...

This is an excerpt from an email I received today. The writer and his partner have just been selected for the Daintree waitlist and are in the "baby puppy preparation phase" before they will welcome a wee Daintree ginger into their homes later this year.

As is customary with Daintree, after approval I had sent them a copy of the shopping list, our puppy manual and link to Puppy Culture, a video series I recommend for all new owners.

"Thank you for all the information... it is so enlightening and we are learning a lot. It is helping us to get ready at home for her arrival. We are really getting more excited every day as we talk with everybody about her... Thank you again for your thoughtful job and for opening our minds."

Because when people choose this kennel in the middle of nowhere with several months' wait for a puppy, there is a reason. They become family and are treated like VIPs.  I will drop everything for a call or email from one of my buyers, even years into the future. This kennel is truly, 100% committed to the welfare and quality of life for EVERY puppy ever produced. As an ethical breeder, that is my legacy.

We'll be coming back to Daintree because Trisha gets it right

My boyfriend and I began looking for a dog over a year and a half ago, looking for the perfect hunting companion. We were curious about what breeds (other than a springer,) would suit our needs and found the Toller, which neither of us had heard about before. We continued researching and decided it was time to find a breeder.

We couldn't be more happy that Daintree (and Trisha) was the breeder we found. The entire process was amazing, she kept everyone up to date with pictures and information and she was a fountain of knowledge. We felt comfortable asking her questions (no matter how silly they were) which she would respond to in a fast manner.

We got a puppy from the Splash Litter (Denim x Tiffany,) Daintree's Jacques Cousteau and there is not enough praise we can give Trisha. This dog is the perfect companion in every way. He has gone back to his Toller roots as a hunting dog, and as a young puppy he has already demonstrated tracking in the field. He is learning to retrieve. He is well tempered and a dream.

Trisha works with all the young puppies, socializing them, and you can tell that he was brought up with love and care. The stepping stones she started with him helped make an easy transition from breeder to owner, and he is an absolute delight. I highly recommend that anyone looking for a Toller (seriously looking,) fills out the application for Trisha. You will be thankful you did.

In the future after JC is older and we are ready for another Toller puppy we know that Daintree is where we will go because Trisha gets it right. Daintree dog owners become family with one another, and it is the greatest thing to experience.

Daintree goes above and beyond with their Socialization program

Being a Professional Dog Trainer for over 7 Years and working in a Veterinary Clinic for over 9 Years I know first hand the importance of properly socializing puppies and exposing them to all kinds of stimuli. But far too often I am presented with a puppy or dog that has suffered due to incomplete socialization. Between 3 weeks and 3 months of age, puppies are primed for bonding to other animals and individuals, for learning that objects, people, and environments are safe, and for learning what the body cues and signals of others mean. Puppies who do not get adequate socialization during this period tend to grow up to be fearful of unfamiliar people, or dogs, or sounds, objects and environments. These are the dogs that I get to deal with on a daily basis.

Daintree goes above and beyond with their Socialization program. By starting early and being consistent Daintree provides the best chance that their puppies will grow into a happy confident dogs. They stop the fear before it starts.

I really wish more breeders would follow suit and see the importance of Socialization and Exposure (to different peoples, animals, environments, noises, surfaces, etc) that there would be a lot more puppies out there that grow into dogs that are well adjusted to our society and lifestyles. Diantree's program is going to help prevent dogs that grow up to be anxious, fearful and even aggressive, by starting them out with the best start possible,

I absolutely would not hesitate to get another Toller from Daintree

I have been involved in dogs for many years, competing and showing in many aspects. Dealing with Trisha has been great all around from the first contact onward. I had a lot of questions and concerns after losing my previous Toller at only 8, Trisha was open and honest about everything, and told me exactly what her breeding goals were. Sola (Topaz x Rhys) could not be more perfect, she is exactly what I described wanting, a fierce drivey go-getter with an attitude. Sola made me fall back in love with the breed, and has made many others fall in love with them too! I absolutely would not hesitate to get another Toller from Daintree or the Topaz/Rhys line.

Trisha has always been honest and upfront

Trisha is a very caring dog breeder. I have worked with her in the past and she has always been honest and upfront. Her ethics are phenomenal and she cares about her clients, collegues and her 4 legged family members. Trisha has always followed our contract/written agreements in an honorable and honest fashion.

As a client, I have had the pleasure of having many of her dogs live with us in our home. Her dogs have been well-mannered and they get along with everyone in our household (4 legged and 2).

"You run a wonderful kennel"

Hi Trisha,
I just wanted to take a moment (while little Kenji San is sound asleep) to thank you for everything. What a pleasure to come and see you in your element with all your gorgeous dogs and sweet little puppies. If we hadn’t had such a long drive ahead I would have stayed all day!

Bruce, formerly Kenji meeting his new family Kelly and Scott.

It was so nice to meet everyone in person after watching so intently over FB these past few months. I was so surprised by how tiny Granny is, but she’s every bit as sweet as she appears over the web. I can see why Denim is your golden boy - wow what a handsome, well behaved guy and Tiffany is just so calm and lovely too. Again it was a treat for us to come to you so we could meet the parents and get a glimpse into what our sweet boy will be like when he gets older. It was also Scott’s life dream to get in the pen with all the puppies at once – bucket list… check!

You run a wonderful kennel and all the puppies and adults are so loved and well cared for. Your passion for your animals shows through in everything you do. I remember you telling me in our phone interview that you’ve had friends come by and not believe that you have so many dogs because it just doesn’t smell like dog at your place at all - a plug for raw food I never thought I’d give but it's the truth!
To anyone waiting for their pup to be ready or considering making an application, it is a lot of anticipation to wait until week 7 to have a discussion about which will be ‘your dog’ but trust me, I have seen them all in person and each one is beautiful and will make you the happiest person on earth! Keep an open mind; Trisha does a great job discussing temperament and which puppy will be a good fit for your home. Trust her, she knows!
Trisha, we have learned a ton from you over the past 2 months and thank you for all your support to date. We’ll be in touch with pics and let you know when we choose a new name for our little prince.

Dutch buyers Paul and Margit and their puppy, Puck

We, Dutch Toller owners and –lovers, had been following Daintree’s Facebook page for quite a while. We learned that we had a lot in common on topics like raising, training, feeding and vaccinating Tollers. In May this year we had to take the difficult decision not to use our male Toller as a stud and won’t be having one of his puppies. That’s when we decided to look for a puppy elsewhere that could be used as a stud dog as well, as in our opinion the Dutch Toller population needs fresh blood.

At that moment Daintree’s had a lovely dog available, that might be the right one for us. So we contacted Trisha. She answered to our questions and we decided that we wanted that puppy.

Buying a puppy at the other side of the world needs some consideration, as you can’t fly over to see the puppy and meet the breeder. Selling a puppy to ‘strangers’ at the other side of the world also needs some consideration from the breeder. But Trisha did a very thorough screening on us. We were very happy with that; it gave her certainty the puppy was going to the right home and it gave us more certainty that we were getting the right puppy for our family with already two grown up Tollers.

After passing that process, the puppy had to come to Europe. We were able to make a good agreement on that point as well and early July this year Trisha flew over to Europe with the puppy. We met at the airport where our lovely boy was handed over to us.

The puppy was exactly as we saw at all the pictures and movies on facebook and as described by Trisha; what she said was what we got. And more than that! He grew up to much more then we ever hoped he would be. Very, very happy with this dog and Trisha’s Daintree Kennel. Thank you Trisha!

Not a Daintree dog, but thriving with our methods

Erica Cooper started following the Daintree Duck Tollers Facebook page and began to learn more about a holistic way to care for her shelter dog, a Duck Toller.

Abby.jpg

When my husband and I got our new puppy in 2007 she was only 3 months old, had been beaten and abused and had her ears clipped.  The closest toller breeder to us was in Alabama, and they were not a lot of help.

We wanted to make sure we did everything "by the book". We took her to the vet and got every and all shots the vet recommended. We fed her whatever kibble the vet recommended. As time went on, our new little pup seemed to have a rash on her belly at times and horribly dry skin. Her vet suggested different sensitive stomach pet foods, and we kept changing it up over and over trying to find something.

In learning more about Tollers, I stumbled upon Trisha's Daintree Duck Tollers site. It was a wealth of knowledge! Not only did I get to find out more about my own dog, but I got to find out more about the breed in general. That is when I first found out about raw diets and feeding. It seemed like a lot of work and extra money, but I wanted to make sure I did everything I could to see if my own dog's health would improve. I started out slowly, a few times a week I would raw feed. Then more and more. I noticed my dog's coat got more shiny. Her rash was disappearing. Her skin was no longer dry and she seemed to be much more active. I discussed with my vet what I was doing, but he wouldn't say much about it. He was a firm supporter of his own pet food brand that was sold on site. I knew what I was doing was helping her though, so I continued. And thankfully, through the Daintree facebook, I get new ideas for food to feed her!

Also, the more I learned about vaccines, the more I wished I would have waited and did a lot of things differently. Again, her original vet was a huge supporter of all vaccines, so I was not going to get any help from him. Whenever I would bring up questions, everything was masked behind a reason of "everyone else does it, so we will, too" attitude. I had to do my own research, with great help from the Daintree site and Facebook, to learn about making my own decisions for my dog. I know whenever the time comes for us to get another Toller, not only would I be honored to have a Daintree dog, but I feel like I have the peace of mind knowing that I don't have to follow the so called "norm" for the health and well-being of my pet.

Daintree has helped me, along with the many other followers, to learn that we have to be in charge of what is right for our pets. I have a become a strong advocate for the health of my dog. I stand up to big pharma and typical vet care. Just because everyone does it, doesn't mean you shouldn't question why! I would strongly urge any and all pet owners to not just say Yes, but ask Why! How is this benefiting my animal? Is there a better way? And above all else, seek out others in this community for help and advice! Together, we can help extend the life and livelihood of our pets.

Abby is her name. She is 7 now and a completely different dog. Still tiny little ears but an amazing companion.
