We cannot sing Daintree's praises enough! Let me explain how, by simply describing the ways in which our puppy has transitioned to life with us, away from her litter. Our little lady Pip (Daintree's Joyeux Noelle, from the Yuletide Litter) has been the absolutely perfect addition to our tiny homestead. The first night she was with us we were spoiled with a puppy that slept from bedtime all the way until our alarms went off. No accidents. No crying. We were blown away! And since then, we have not had even one sleepless night due to a crying puppy.
Pip had the hard job of coming onto a property that has so many animals already living here, and she needed to forge her way into the existing dynamics. In a short month, she has learned to respect the cats (even nap next to them on the couch!), let the older dog (whom she adores!) eat in peace, roam in the goat pen without chasing, and most difficult of all, walk among the chickens without chasing and barking! Teaching a dog that is bred to retrieve birds to be calm among chickens is not an easy feat... but she is such a quick learner!
Besides her adaptability, Pip has an unparalleled fear recovery. Her resilience to facing potentially scary situations (passing growling dogs, loud trucks, dirt bikes, busy streets in Downtown Vancouver etc). is astounding! She has the ability to face the fear, and trusts us to help her move on.
I could continue to brag about my puppy, but my point is Trisha raises her puppies right. We owe Pip's quick learning skills to the way she was raised. The puppies at Daintree are loved and spoiled. They are fed like royalty and exposed to children and the elderly in schools and nursing homes before they even leave for their new homes!
Trisha's use of the puppy culture program is why we ultimately chose this kennel. Puppy culture, I believe, has equipped Pip to become a balanced, happy, and content dog. Amid an industry of so many questionable, backyard breeders, and poor practices, Daintree stands out as the best of the best. If you are thinking about getting a Duck Toller, Daintree is the only answer in our opinion.
We feel so lucky to have a Daintree puppy as one of our own and even though she is only 14 weeks old, it feels like she has always been a part of our home.
Thank you Trisha for trusting us with a Daintree puppy!
