I took the dogs on a proper, long, strenuous hike on the Kuskanax Trail today. It was a perfect sunny, cool fall day. They really ran their little hearts out, so much that I wished I had put on a couple of backpacks and had them carry some water and a dish with us. They were all quite hot and out of breath on our way back down the mountain, so when Topaz spotted the only water (a big mud puddle), naturally he laid down right in it to cool off like the piglet he is. He was absolutely dripping in brown water like a mud wrestler, but all I could do was laugh.
PRA Clear!
Got the news I've been waiting for a long time! Miss Bhindi is PRA clear!! It's what everyone hopes for but doesn't always get, such as her father (Topaz) being a carrier.
We are pretty thrilled with the news!!
Our active lifestyle
To show what kind of hijinx the big dogs and I get up to, I have created a new page called ACTION SHOTS, head on over and take a looksee.
the other dogs
Even though the house is all but taken over by puppies, the adult dogs are still getting good runs at different parks and beaches almost daily, and it is still nice enough that they can swim and retrieve their toys from the lake as well.
Topaz and I and a friend went to check out a new trail yesterday, and he had a splendid 2:1 time for about 2 hours in the mountains.
Got to see Hollis and Jasper last weekend
Hollis and Jasper's families came out to meet me at the dog park for a little run while I was in Calgary last weekend. I took some photos and am so sad, they were deleted accidentally off my camera :(
I managed to get Boomer off to his new home, where I have received the following report about him:
Boomer is doing really well. He is horking down over two pounds of food a day, and is putting weight on nicely. His energy level is way up (it is quite funny to see him tolling around the living room, although a little nerve-wracking with the lamps!), and he is behaving much more like a two-year-old dog. He loves going for walks on the trails, although he is a little nervous when the trees close in and the wind is high… he’ll get over that, though. He also likes swimming in the lake, although he still has no interest in retrieving on land or water!
