Spring 2010

Daintree is pleased to announce the upcoming breeding of Topaz to Mercedes, on loan from Tollchester Kennels in BC.

Puppies raised in a home environment with cats, visitors of all ages and early training. We feed a balanced diet, including raw and kibble, and follow a limited vaccination schedule.

Puppies expected in mid-March and ready to go in mid to late May. Solid family dogs are our goal.

~ * ~ Success in Cranbrook ~ * ~

A gorgeous hot and sunny weekend in Cranbrook BC brought Rhys her first 2 CKC points.  She showed beautifully on Saturday and took Best Opposite being shown by her Breeder, Til Niquidet from Pikkinokka.  I showed her on Sunday after realizing I still have a long way to go to learn about how to show dogs- and knowing Til would do a better job with Bhindi.

Bhindi came home empty-handed but with 2 days of showing under her belt.

All in all it was a great weekend, even though the wasps were rampant and we didn't have access to any showers... lol.

Upcoming Dog Show

Trisha is pondering entering the Cranbrook show this year on the weekend of August 28-30 with both Rhys and Bhindi.  A few things have to come together, such as handling classes for Bhindi and someone to bench with.  Also, if the CKC gets around to registering each of the puppies' CKC numbers, so Bhindi actually has one!

A Pet's Ten Commandments

Chokes me up every time...

A PET'S TEN COMMANDMENTS...

1. My life is likely to last 10-15 years.
Any separation from you is likely to be painful.

2. Give me time to understand what you want of me.

3. Place your trust in me. It is crucial for my well-being.

4. Don't be angry with me for long and don't lock me
up as punishment. You have your work, your
friends, your entertainment, but I have only you.

5. Talk to me. Even if I don't understand your words,
I do understand your voice when speaking to me.

6. Be aware that however you treat me,
I will never forget it.

7. Before you hit me, before you strike me,
remember that I could hurt you, and yet, I choose
not to bite you.

8. Before you scold me for being lazy or
uncooperative, ask yourself if something might be
bothering me. Perhaps I'm not getting the right
food, I have been in the sun too long, or my heart
might be getting old or weak.

9. Please take care of me when I grow old.
You too, will grow old.

10. On the ultimate difficult journey, go with me
please. Never say you can't bear to watch. Don't
make me face this alone. Everything is easier for
me if you are there, because I love you so.
