What a nightmare

So far I have been happy with this website provider and even moved from a free account to a paid one, with my own url. But I can't seem to upload any new images, so huge apologies for the lack of new photos on the site. I am trying to resolve it with the site provider but that is slloooooooow going. Stay with me folks, I will work it out or find a way around it.

Day 4

It's hard to believe it's only been 4 days since the Gratitude Litter was born. It seems like so much longer. Their eyes and ears are still sealed shut, but the ear flaps are starting to droop over, as opposed to being stuck straight-up. They are weighed every morning, and Bombay is almost always the heaviest, with Mango consistently the smallest, but not by enough to be worried about.

I am taking photos, video, updating everything, and just generally still hovering. I am starting to get a few inquiries, too, which is nice. I don't worry they will all find homes, I'm just not sure exactly how people are going to find me...

It's official- I am obsessed

Ever since 2 days ago, life will never be the same. I am more in love with my dog, Curry the mother, as I watch her daily taking care of the little ones' needs. She feeds them and potties them and moves them around with her mouth when necessary. She quiets their cries, keeps them warm and sometimes climbs right out of the whelping nest for a little cool-down time and peace. She is amazing, and has become even more amazing to me than she already was.

I am also in love with the litter. At 2 days old, they don't have much personality as individuals but the presence of all this brand-new life in the house is indescribable. Their cooing and mewling is music to my ears. If they need something, Mom knows what to do and provides it. All are taken care of. I am obsessed with taking their photos, updating the website, uploading video to Youtube and just generally documenting everything. This is a healthy obsession, and one I don't intend to give up :)

Photos and Updates

I will be posting photos as often as is feasible for all of those of you who come here to see their progress. Since this is my first litter, I am taking hundreds of pictures and lots of video. I even have an idea for a little memento pack for each puppy's purchaser of the infancy stage for them to keep. This will include photos, video and other little things about their puppy from birth to 9 weeks.

They're here!!

Those little puppies have arrived!!! The first was born around 3:30 yesterday morning and the last just after 7am. We have 8: 4 boys and 4 girls, all safe and sound. Pics are up now on the "puppies" page.

The vet has come and gone- they all got a clean bill of health, and she identified the 1 or 2 to supervise, so that they get enough nourishment. She did some osteopathic work, chiropractic adjustment, and cranial therapy too, lucky little dogs. That was on both mom and tots. She told me that these adjustments at an early age will help them to suckle better, and thus be sure to thrive!!

All are happy, now eating their 28th meal of the day :)
